Available by prescription only, Eylea™ (aflibercept) is a medication approved for slowing down or reversing vision loss caused by age-related "wet" macular degeneration. This medicine comes as an injection that is given directly in the eye by a healthcare provider. It is injected monthly for the first 12 weeks, and then once every two months after that. Eye pain, cataracts, and blood spots on the white part of the eye are among the possible side effects.
