Lucentis Drug Interactions
Lucentis® (ranibizumab) is unlikely to interact with most other medications. This is probably because it is injected directly into the eye, and very little of the drug reaches the bloodstream. Because most of the body is exposed to low levels of Lucentis, drug interactions are not likely. However, it is important to understand that it has not been thoroughly studied with other medications, so it is possible that there are interactions that are currently unknown. It is known that combining Lucentis with verteporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT) can increase the risk of serious eye inflammation. Verteporfin PDT is another macular degeneration treatment
It is possible that not all Lucentis drug interactions are known at this time. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider on a regular basis about any specific drug interactions that may apply to you.
