Macular Degeneration Treatment
There are a few types of macular degeneration treatment -- the one your eye care professional recommends will depend on the specific type of macular degeneration you have. With dry macular degeneration, early treatment can be possible with certain vitamins. With wet macular degeneration, treatment options include photodynamic therapy, laser surgery, and injections. Regardless of the treatment used, there is no cure for macular degeneration, and lost vision cannot be restored.

Your doctor can describe your treatment options and the expected results of each. You and your doctor can work together to develop a treatment plan that meets your medical needs and personal values. Choosing the most appropriate macular degeneration treatment is a decision that ideally involves both the patient and the healthcare team.
