Diagnosing Wet Macular Degeneration

In order to make a wet macular degeneration diagnosis, your doctor will ask you a number of questions about your medical history and will also perform a comprehensive eye exam.
 
This comprehensive eye exam may include the following:
 
  • Visual acuity test
  • Dilated eye exam
  • Tonometry
  • Amsler grid
  • Fluorescein angiogram.

Treatment Options for Wet Macular Degeneration

There is no cure for wet macular degeneration, but treatment options can include:
 
While macular degeneration treatments may save remaining vision, they do not improve sight already lost from macular degeneration.
